About the yard
Good bikes shouldn't sit in shops. Good shops shouldn't sit on the sidelines.
Bike Yard connects Australian riders with real local bike shops — and gets out of the way.
[01]The problem
Why we built it
Walk into any bike shop in Australia and you'll find great bikes that deserve riders — last season's models, ex-demo stock, clearance bikes at prices that would make someone's year. Meanwhile, riders hunting for a deal end up trawling marketplaces full of private sellers, guessing at specs, sizes, and whether the bike in the photos is the bike they'll get.
The bikes are there. The buyers are there. They just couldn't find each other. So we built the place where they do.
[02]The model
How the yard works
Shops list their new and ex-demo bikes — free, with complete manufacturer specs on every listing. Riders browse, compare, and contact the shop directly. The sale happens where it should: at the shop, with a test ride, a proper fit, and a warranty behind it.
Bike Yard takes no commission and never handles the money. We're the introduction, not the middleman.
[03]The beliefs
What we believe
01
Local bike shops matter.
Test rides, expert fitting, warranty support, a workshop that knows your bike — none of that comes in a shipping box. Every bike sold through a local shop keeps that expertise in your community.
02
Buying a bike shouldn't be a gamble.
Full specs, real prices, and a real business on the other end of the conversation. You should know exactly what you're getting before you get excited.
03
Platforms should earn their keep, not skim it.
No commission, no cut of the sale, no fees buried in the price. When a shop sells a $10,000 bike through Bike Yard, they keep every dollar.
